The Villa On Mount Pleasant 360 virtual tour was shot back in 2018, after the owner Tamsyn Morgans entered and won the International Blog Awards (IBA18). I’ve worked with Tamsyn for several years as she is not only a successful blogger, but also a talented stylist and model for Sandra Reynolds Model Agency.
Tamsyn has spent all her spare time renovating and refreshing her home, which is an 18th century Victorian terraced house on the outshirts of Norwich. ‘The Villa’ has a very fashionable, vintage look with a ‘shabby chic’ style throughout and the 360 virtual tour needed to suppliment this.
I shot the imagery using my Canon DSLR and fisheye lens, and I manually stitched the shots together with a combination of PT Gui and Adobe Photoshop. Having output the high resolution tifs, I added a stylised Instagram look to them using some custom Photoshop Actions. This technique has produced some beautiful looking imagery that accentuates the atmosphere and feel of the location.
Whilst there are now many automated 360 stills and video cameras on the market, you simply cannot get the quality that I achieve with my fully manual camera and techniques. It is more labour intensive, but there really is a world of a difference. The downside is that all this extra processing and production time costs money, so some of my clients prefer to opt for the more economical, automated camera approach.
Every 360 virtual tour that i shoot is different, as every client is different, and they all have their own individual requirements. Once again, my web team and I created a bespoke user interface that matched the style of the subject. Whatever your budget, I’d like to think we can offer a solution that surpasses your expectations but still keeps within your budget.
