I’ve been pushing the boundries of technology again and produced a “Gigapixel” image of the London River Thames skyline at dusk. A “Gigapixel Image” is a very high resolution digital file with over 1024 megapixels. They are made by ‘stitching’ together numerous single image frames to produce a very high resolution tiled photograph. This sort of resolution allows for massive enlargement with incredible detail and is perfect for wall art, building wraps, banners, exhibition prints and anything smaller too. They can also be viewed online and you can zoom into the detail to practically see what’s on the menu in the restaurants in The Shard. The original image was actually 4 gigapixels but I’ve downsized to 55,000 pixels x 20,000 pixels as it took up such a lot of space on my server.
